Tom Timlin at Jackson Coffee Company

Former music teacher Tom Timlin is a native of Lansing, Michigan, now residing in Spring Arbor, Michigan near Jackson. He started singing with old 78 rpm records when he was only 4 years old and fell in love with music. He has been playing musical instruments since eight years old when he started on piano lessons. He later joined the junior high band program and learned to play the trumpet, about the same he took up guitar.

The annual Winston Scholarship program is offering $9000 for Voice students, and $9000 for Art students; portions of these amounts are awarded for private study, special training or personal advancement. Students first apply to the Mid-Michigan Chapter of the National Society of Arts & Letters. The mission of the NSAL is to identify, support and encourage young artists at the beginning of their careers in the Arts.
