Jazz and Blues Night featuring Ramona Collins Quintet, 7-11 PM. $35/person in advance, $40 at the door. Bring your friends and come enjoy a special evening of great entertainment, dancing and appetizers in the Rose Room at Daryl's Downtown Restaurant, 151 W. Michigan Ave., downtown Jackson. Spring Arbor University is hosting a day of jazz on February 26, 2010. The SAU Office of Intercultural Programs has teamed up with Jazzistry, a nonprofit Ann Arbor-based organization, to bring the history of jazz and jazz music to life.

Ji Hyun Kim, violinist, will be teaching a masterclass at the JSO Orchestra Hall, downtown Jackson, 215 W. Michigan Ave., Jackson, on March 6. Featuring members of the Jackson Youth Symphony, this class is free and open to the public.
Jackson Youth Symphony concert will be held at Western High School's Performing Arts Center, 1400 S. Dearing Rd., Parma at 3 PM on March 7. Music of Dukas, Fanfare from La Peri, Hovhaness' And God Created Great Whales, and Siblius' Finlandia will be performed. Joining the JYSO will be violinist Ji Hyun Kim performing Khachaturian's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra. No cost, free will offering. These fine, young musicians put on a wonderful performance.
