Welded Steel, $5,800
Location: Michigan Ave in downtown Jackson
Ironman is part of the 2009 - 2010 City of Jackson's public art exhibition sponsored by the City of Jackson, Arts and Cultural Alliance of Jackson County and the Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History.
Ironman, a welded steel tribute to triathletes, is named for the annual triathlon, The Iron Man, held each year in Hawaii. Ironman combines the energy and motion of swimming, biking and running into a single form. Ironman cuts through the water, leans into the bike and breaks the finish tape at the end of the run.
