From Conversations is part of the 2009 - 2010 City of Jackson's public art exhibition sponsored by the City of Jackson, Arts and Cultural Alliance of Jackson County and the Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History.
Watching dance has been a continual inspiration for Norma in her exploration of the gestural quality of a moment in the movement of the human figure. The subtle variations in position and movement that the figure in dance find in rehearsal andn performance have inspired her to want to freeze a moment, capture the stress, strain and relaxation. These transitory moments are what she strives to realize in her sculptures.
