Open Auditions - The Diary of Anne Frank

Center Stage Jackson – Jackson’s community theatre group - is holding OPEN AUDITIONS for the play “The Diary of Anne Frank,” to be directed by Denise Weber.
 
Auditions will be held Monday, November 30th and Tuesday, December 1st, 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Auditorium of the Middle School at Parkside, 2400 Fourth St., Jackson, Michigan.
 
There may be a call back audition to be determined at a later date.
 
Production dates are February 12, 13, and 19, 20 at 8:00 p.m. and February 14 and 21 at 3:00 p.m.  There are also two assemblies for the school on Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19 at 12:00 Noon.  All productions, including the assemblies, require mandatory participation.  All performances will take place at the Middle School at Parkside.
 
The production calls for ten characters consisting of the following:
 
3 Males aged 40 or above
1 Male aged 30 or above
1 Male – teen
2 Females – aged 40 or above
1 Female – aged 25 or above
2 Females – teens
 
A rehearsal schedule will be available at auditions.  Auditions will consist of cold readings; no preparation is required.  No experience is required. 
 
Set during one of history’s most brutal periods, the Holocaust, the play is based on the actual diary of a young girl who comes of age while hiding from the Nazis in a tiny, overcrowded attic with her family for more than two years.  During their confinement, Anne discovers herself as a beautiful, thoughtful, and extraordinary girl and still maintains an unwavering hope for the future.  Her indomitable spirit will inspire and move audiences of all ages
