Day of Jazz at Spring Arbor University

02/26/2010 7:30 pm

Spring Arbor University is hosting a day of jazz on February 26, 2010. The SAU Office of Intercultural Programs has teamed up with Jazzistry, a nonprofit Ann Arbor-based organization, to bring the history of jazz and jazz music to life.

From 3:50-5 p.m. in White Auditorium, visitors are invited to a free event where Jazzistry will present their multimedia, interactive program that highlights the history and progression of jazz, and its impact on today’s musical artists and art forms. Space is limited, so call to reserve your space by calling 517.750.6687 or emailing lynnem@arbor.edu.

Later, everyone is invited to experience an evening of jazz as Jazzistry performs a concert at 7:30 p.m. in White Auditorium. Featuring acclaimed jazz artist, Vincent York, the concert benefits the Trailblazer Scholarship program at Spring Arbor University, which provides scholarships to students from historically excluded groups.

Doors open at 7. Tickets are $20 with a student rate of $8. Seating is limited so reserve tickets by calling the SAU box office at 517.750.6687 or emailing lynnem@arbor.edu.
