Jackson School of the Arts provides affordable dance, art and theater programs for ages
2 ½ and up on-site and throughout the community in partnership with schools and organizations. We also offer after school art clubs, birthday parties, Girl Scout Badge Programs and adult classes.
3. Programs on-site at 634 N. Mechanic Street.
Dance. Program is for children ages 2 ½ -17 runs from mid-September to mid-May and ends with a spring recital. Classes for pre-schoolers are offered during the day and after school hours. Children and youth classes are Monday-Thursday 4 -8:30 PM. We offer creative movement, pre-ballet, ballet, tap, tap for boys, jazz and hip hop. Fees are based on a sliding fee income scale.
Theater. We offer 2 terms of 12-16 week classes in theater for ages 5-17. Classes are once a week for 1-1 ½ hours. Students learn about acting through theater games and exercises and are introduced to basic theater skills such as movement, voice, auditioning, characterizations, ensemble work and monologues. Each term ends with a showcase performance. Fees are based on a sliding fee income scale.
Visual Arts. We offer 3 12-16 week terms of visual arts classes for ages 2 ½ - 17 on site at 634 N. Mechanic Street. Examples of classes include Mini-Masters, Potential Picassos, Comics and Cartoons, Photography, Art Around the World, Watercolor Mixed Media College and Art Studio. Classes are offered Monday – Thursday during the day and after school hours and on Saturdays. Fees are based on a sliding fee income scale.
Adults can take individual classes or sign up for a series of 1 ½ hour classes throughout the year. Examples include: Glass Mosaics, Drawing Basics, Watercolor. $15 for 1 class or $55 for a 4 week session.
Family Art Days are once a month the 2nd Sunday of each month from 2-4 PM. Children of all ages and their families can drop-in and create a different art project each month. $5 per person. Reservations are not required.
Birthday Parties: Have a creative fun-filled birthday.
Girl Scout Badge Program: We offer programs for all of your arts related badges.

Off-site
After School Art Clubs. A Jackson School of the Arts instructor comes to your school to provide 4-6 weeks of art instruction for your students. You provide the space, we do all the rest.
