The Arts and Cultural Alliance of Jackson County is Pleased to announce our newest Board Member, Kim Hastings, Executive Director of Jackson School of the Arts., since 2005 Kim’s volunteer work has included service on the marketing committee for the Ann Arbor Art Center, board membership on the Stockbridge Area Arts Council, Chelsea Children’s Cooperative, the Michigan Dance Council, the Town Hall Players and the Ella Sharp Arts Go to School Program. She is on the Finance Committee and is former Vice President of Jackson’s Business and Professional Women, is on the Jackson Symphony Orchestra Guild Board and a member of the Baker Tea Committee, a group that fundraises for various community organizations. She is also on the Board of Directors for Classic Turning, Inc and annually reviews grants as a MCACA panelist. Hastings says, “As Executive Director of Jackson School of the Arts, I am particularly proud that we have created a place of diversity and inclusion that reflects Jackson as a community. Here people from all socio economic backgrounds come together for a common purpose – to enrich children’s lives with the arts. Our mission has broader implications for this community.” Hastings currently resides in Parma.
ACAJC is currently looking for volunteers for the Marketing Committee. The committee meets once a month. The work outside of meetings is approximately 1 hour per week. We’re able to work around most schedules.
Possible skills might include some but not necessarily all of the following:
Website Content Experience (we use WordPress), Promotional Skills (ability to design collateral materials, ability to manage deadlines, editorial skills), Photography Skills, Graphic Design Skills (understands cost of printing and materials, ability to manage deadlines), Writing Skills (creative writing experience, able to write and submit press releases), Sponsorship Coordinating Experience, and/or Social Media Skills.
